Hello world!

Welcome back Aggies and welcome to the brand new NMSU Women in STEM website!

We are so excited to be back and we cannot wait to see everyone’s faces, old and new, this upcoming Monday.

This semester is already full of tons of activities that we are very excited about!

The main focus of this semester is to further increase our presence on campus – we would like to spread our membership to more majors and colleges within the university and get the word out to as many different kinds of people on campus as possible. Because of this goal, we have made a great effort to involve ourselves in as many welcome week and campus-wide activities as possible. (Hopefully a few of you found us from our table or campus-wide fliers!)

As we dive into this semester we already have some great opportunities to take advantage of. Here are a couple planned events we have to look forward to:

– On September 15th we will be co-hosting a video-game social with IEEE. This is a great chance to meet other STEM majors to grow your network and support system on campus.
– On October 7th we will be visiting Spaceport America where we will get to meet with employees of Virgin Galactic, tour the facilities, and assist in an event for the Girl Scouts of America.
– From October 21st-28th we will be participating in Homecoming Week events including Keep State Great, Door/Office decorating, and the Homecoming Parade

We hope to see everyone for our first meeting of the semester this Monday, August 28th in Thomas and Brown Room 204. All are welcome!
